    Graham Cracker Crust

    Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

Hey Y’all.  A classic graham cracker crust is a staple recipe to add to your recipe collection.

    Disclaimer

This recipe is so beginner friendly.  You only need 4 ingredients and very minimal equipment.

    Ingredients

    • Graham Crackers
    • Granulated sugar
    • Salt
    • Melted butter

    Special Equipment Optional!

A food processor i s a luxury, but you can crush cookies to smithereens in less than 30 seconds.  And since you will need to wash the food processor, you can go ahead and make the whole thing in the food processor. It will save you a bowl or two.

I have had this Cuisinart food processor for almost a decade and now it seems it’s discontinued.  Sad Face. Any of the Cuisinart 14-cup food processors are a worthwhile investment because you can do so many things: make pie dough, shred the cheese for Thanksgiving Mac & Cheese.  Make all sorts of pie crusts, scones (like these Maple Bacon Scones) and biscuits.

If you don’t have a food processor, don’t worry. All you need is a gallon ziploc bag, a rolling pin and some pent up frustration.

    Tips:

It’s so tempting to make a very thick cookie crust, because more crust is better right?  Well sometimes more is more and in the case of the graham cracker cookie crust — a very thick crust will make it hard to cut a pie/cheesecake.

Pop the crust in the fridge while you preheat the oven to help it firm up before baking.

    Are you extra?

Y’all know I love being extra.  So yeah, sometimes I make the graham crackers from scratch.  For me there is just something soothing about the process.  You don’t have to be extra with me– Honey Graham Crackers are always legit.

    Recipes Ideas Graham Cracker Crusts

Graham Cracker crusts are pie and cheesecake staples.  While I’ve been on a Biscoff Crust kick lately, Graham Cracker crusts are neutral enough to work with almost any flavor combination. You can swap the Biscoff cookie crust for graham cracker crust in all of these recipes.

Hey Y'all. I'm Richelle, the baker behind Southern Shelle! I started this blog back in 2011 while I was awaiting my bar exam results and I wanted a little of piece home [South Carolina!] while we lived in the DMV area. We eventually moved back south, but that's even more reason to celebrate southern baking and plentiful White Lily Flour!
