Description
Vodka pie crust is a flaky beginner friendly pie crust made with your favorite vodka and a food processor.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/2 cup cold crisco, cut into 4 pieces.
12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into 12 pieces
1/4 cup cold vodka
1/4 cup ice water
Instructions
- Pour 1 cup of flour, the sugar and salt in the food processor and blend.
- Add the crisco and butter to the food processor bowl. Process until the flour resembles chunky crumbles. Then add the remaining flour to the food processor bowl and process until combined.
- Pour the ice water and vodka into the food processor and process for a couple of seconds, until the dough comes together.
- Scrape the dough out into a floured surface and divide the dough in half. Wrap each disc in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out.
